Some of the participating societies offer either student merit awards or travel awards incentives to attend the conference. Some also offer postgraduate student awards for oral and/or poster presentations. Details are as follows:
ASBMB Student Merit Awards
The ASBMB calls for applications by its student members to cover the cost of their registration for attendance at the ASBMB conference, ComBio2022 . A maximum of six awards will be awarded in total, with a maximum of two per state. Students from overseas are also welcome to apply. Awards will not be given to students from the city in which the conference is to be held, this year in Melbourne.

ASBMB Postgraduate student poster awards
Up to six awards of $300 each will be made for the best posters presented by Student Members of the ASBMB at ComBio2022.

GSAThe GSA calls for applications from PhD student members for the "Spencer Smith-White Travel Award". This award covers the conference registration fees. Full details of the award can be seen at: https://genetics.org.au/awards/#Smith-White. Applications are due on 15th May!
Other awards offered include a long-form talk award (Mayo Prize), a lighting talk award (Jenny Graves Prize) and a poster award (Sidney James Prize). For all three of these awards, GSA student attendees are automatically considered and each is given free registration at the following year's conference. Masters, Honours and Undergraduate students will be eligible to apply for GSA Student Conference Awards to cover registration fees. Watch this website for application details: https://genetics.org.au/awards/
For members from New Zealand, attendance scholarships are available from the New Zealand Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. For application form and details please see www.nzsbmb.org/nzsbmb-conference-grants,noting that applications will close on July 31.
