Two Career Development Workshops will be incorporated into the symposium program during the main conference. They will be held on Tuesday, 25 September in the morning and afternoon symposium sessions. The Education and Career Development stream is significant this year and comprises of a number of sessions over 2 full days. All of these sessions can be viewed on the full program which can be downloaded from here.

On the Monday the separate sessions are:
  • Researching and Publishing in Science Education
  • Applying for a Teaching Grant
  • Innovative Practice in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Education
  • Writing a Teaching Grant
On the Tuesday the separate sessions are:
  • Career Development Forum 1
  • Career Development Forum 2
  • Early Career Research Grant Writing Workshop

Also, as a first, ComBio has an Education Scholar’s Writing Room which will be located on the C2 Boardroom of the ICC Sydney.

This will be open from 08:30 to 17:00 for each day of the conference (so from Monday to Wednesday inclusive).

The Education Scholars Writing Room is available for all three days of the conference. If you would like to write about your education work, you are welcome to spend time in the writing space with other like-minded writers. This is an ideal space to work on your teaching award applications, education grants, and Scholarship of Teaching and Learning paper writing. Please bring your laptop. Members of the Education Special Interest Group will be in attendance at the room for much of the conference.
